Keynote speaker: Stefano Tomasin
Stefano Tomasin received the Ph.D. degree from the University of Padova, Italy, in 2003. During his studies, he did internships with IBM Research (Switzerland) and Philips Research (Netherlands). He joined the University of Padova, where he has been Assistant Professor (2005-2015), Associate Professor (2016-2022), and Full Professor (since 2022). He was visiting faculty at Qualcomm, San Diego (CA) in 2004, the Polytechnic University in Brooklyn (NY) in 2007, and the Mathematical and Algorithmic Sciences Laboratory of Huawei in Paris (France) in 2015. His current research interests include physical layer security, security of global navigation satellite systems, signal processing for wireless communications, synchronization, and scheduling of communication resources. He is a senior member of IEEE since 2011 (member since 1999) and a member of EURASIP since 2011. He is or has been an Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technologies (2011-2016), of the IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing (2017-2020), of the EURASIP Journal of Wireless Communications and Networking (since 2011) and of the IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security (since 2020). He has also served as a Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security since January 2023.

Dr Sumei Sun is the Executive Director of the Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R), A*STAR, Singapore. A*STAR I2R focuses on multi-disciplinary digital technologies research including artificial intelligence (AI), communications and connectivity, and cyber security. Sumei’s current research interests include next-generation wireless communications, joint sensing-communications-computing-control, and applied AI. She also holds a joint appointment with the Singapore Institute of Technology, and an adjunct appointment with the National University of Singapore, both as a full professor.
Slawomir Stanczak is Professor of Network Information Theory at the Technical University of Berlin and Head of the Wireless Communications and Networks Department at the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute (HHI). Prof. Stanczak is co-author of two books and more than 200 peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers in the field of information theory, wireless communications, signal processing, and machine learning. Prof. Stanczak received research grants from the German Research Foundation and the Best Paper Award from the German Society for Telecommunications in 2014. He was an associate editor of the IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing from 2012 to 2015 and chair of the ITU-T Focus Group on Machine Learning for Future Networks including 5G from 2017 to 2020. Since 2020 Prof. Stanczak is chairman of the 5G Berlin association and since 2021 he is coordinator of the projects 6G-RIC (Research & Innovation Cluster) and CampusOS. He is also the project coordinator of xG-Incubator since November 2023, which is part of StartUpConnect.
Rafael F. Schaefer (Senior Member, IEEE) received the Dipl.-Ing. degree in electrical engineering and computer science from the Technische Universität Berlin, Germany, in 2007, and the Dr.-Ing. degree in electrical engineering from the Technische Universität München, Germany, in 2012. He is a Professor and the Head of the Chair of Information Theory and Machine Learning, Technische Universität Dresden, Germany. Since 2023, he has also been leading the Wireless Connectivity and Sensing Group at the Barkhausen Institut, Dresden, Germany. From 2013 to 2015, he was a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow with Princeton University. From 2015 to 2020, he was an Assistant Professor with the Technische Universität Berlin. From 2021 to 2022, he was a Professor with the Universität Siegen. Among his publications is the book Information Theoretic Security and Privacy of Information Systems (Cambridge University Press, 2017). He was a recipient of the VDE Johann-Philipp-Reis Award in 2013. He received the Joy Thomas Tutorial Paper Award in 2025 and Best Paper Awards from the German Information Technology Society (ITG-Preis) in 2016 and IEEE Global Communications Conference in 2023.
Angeliki Alexiou is a professor of Broadband Communications Systems at the department of Digital Systems, ICT School, University of Piraeus, Greece. She received the Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens in 1994 and the PhD in Electrical Engineering from Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine, University of London in 2000. Since May 2009 she has been a faculty member at the Department of Digital Systems, where she conducts research and teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Broadband Communications and Advanced Wireless Technologies. Prior to this appointment she was with Bell Laboratories, Wireless Research, Lucent Technologies, (later Alcatel-Lucent, now NOKIA), in Swindon, UK, (January 1999-April 2009). Professor Alexiou is a co-recipient of Bell Labs President’s Gold Award in 2002 for contributions to Bell Labs Layered Space-Time (BLAST) project and the Central Bell Labs Teamwork Award in 2004 for role model teamwork and technical achievements in the IST FITNESS project. Professor Alexiou is the Chair of the Working Group on Radio Communication Technologies and of the Working Group on High Frequencies Radio Technologies of the Wireless World Research Forum. Her current research interests include radio interface for 6G systems, MIMO, THz wireless communication technologies, Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces, Joint Communications and Sensing, Near-Field Communications, Machine Learning and Physical Layer Security. She the technical manager of (SNS JU) INSTINCT project and the coordinator of TeraWireless (HORIZON-MSCA-DN) project.
